A sneak peak at an article in House & Garden!

We were luckily enough to be part of this issue’s House & Garden. Our chairs have been mentioned which is terrific news!

They seem to be going down a treat! Christmas is finally arriving and these seem to be this winter’s, ‘must-have’.

Bathroom quirks

fashion, interior design, Uncategorized

Doesn’t this Moroccan bathroom look divine?!! A simple yet effective construction around a bath, complete with a shower is an exquisite look. I gather they painted the surrounding grey concrete white to give a nice frame around the bath. Isn’t this what all sunday’s are made of? Bathing and wishing to bathe?!

Inked up

Tattoos have always been a thing, but here’s now to inking on walls.

Who says this cannot be done? You can buy wallpaper paste or just put off-white/grey wallpaper on the walls and ink it yourself. It may take some time but a bit of DIY won’t harm anyone. Having it in a bedroom would look really stylish. Perhaps pink for a baby girl’s bedroom?  Just throwing around some ideas and thoughts to ponder on. This is a tattoo you will never regret.

Principles of a minimalist interior

fashion, interior design, Uncategorized

Minimalism is a huge trend and we’ve spoken about it before over here on the blog. To really get the look we’ve compiled some key areas to focus on when designing a minimalist interior to hit the nail on the head. Find amazing quality pieces! Try and make informed purchases and think about what the product is made of, the colour and even the grain of the material. Having a lot less items in a room means each ones needs to serve a purpose but also be beautiful so that it can hold its own. Simplicity is key in this style interior so keep the lines of your furniture simple and clean. However, to add some quirkiness why not choose this piece in a pop of colour to create a central focus. Lastly, let special features of each room sing. If you have a stunning arched roof keep furniture low lying so that all the focus is up above. This is key to keeping accessorizing to a minimum and only keeping your best on display so that minimalism is achieved and architectural features shine.

Moody botanics

fashion, interior design, Uncategorized

If you loved our earlier blog post on botanicals, then you’ll love our ideas on how to update this for the colder seasons. Darker evenings bring a sense of romance and intrigue with candles and darker colours for you interior. Deep purple, teal and the odd touch of grey or black will bring this summery theme into the autumnal weather with style. Marks and Spencer have a new range with some beautiful dark botanical pieces to spice up a summery interior. On the other hand, you can simply add a darker throw and cushions to an existing bed set (the ultimate designer cheat). This trend is huge in many high street stores so whether big or small you can add a few moody botanicals touches to your interior.

Kicking it back- boho chic

fashion, interior design, Uncategorized

Layer layer layer! Autumn is here and as well as piling on the layers of clothes you may want to add some cosy layers to your interior. Getting warm in this season goes brilliantly with the boho trend with no need to worry about clashing or being too precious about your placement. Layering textures and patterns will add dimension and interest to any room you choose. Think fur, knit and rustic woods to decorate your space. The natural textures will give an organic yet modern feel and you’ll be bang on trend for autumn/winter 2016.

Early autumnal furs

fashion, interior design, Uncategorized

Although autumn doesn’t officially start until September 22nd we are already dreaming of fall décor over here! So hold off on the leaf wreaths and pumpkin candles for a little while but do indulge in some fury comforts for the beginning of the new season. Synthetic fur accessories can come in a wide variety of price ranges depending on the authenticity ad scale but there’s something for everyone. To add to a cosy corner why not try put some fluffy pillows and a throw to snuggle into on the cold evenings. For a bolder statement try covering a chair with fur and exposing some of the framework for a Scandinavian twist. Fur works well with a whole host of trends including many we have mentioned on the blog before! So check out some our previous posts on copper, exposed wood and many other styles for some early autumn inspiration.

Mustard musings

Continuing with the notions of food here’s some mustard inspiration for your interior, and no we don’t mean how to compliment a hot dog on a summers evening. Whether it’s a splash of fresh colour or a whole new scheme, mustard is sure to bring a sophisticated and stylish feel to your room. Navy compliments mustard perfectly so if it’s a small change you want why not try adding a splash of mustard in the form of a throw or pillow set in front of a navy base. H&M home is a great place to find mustard in pillows, throws and other accessories at a brilliant price. I love this idea of painting the radiator for a pop of colour from a non-traditional place. Try going for something untraditional to change up your interior and choosing mustard for the inspo will make it all the more modern.
